Natalia Miller-Forrest is from Grand Junction on the Western Slope of Colorado. She has enjoyed teaching children for over 20 years in many capacities; private school teacher, homeschooler, charter school teacher and Dean of Students at Caprock Academy. Natalia earned a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Northern Colorado in 1995 and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Colorado Mesa University in 2014. Currently Natalia has a Professional Teaching Certificate and an Initial Principal License through the state of Colorado. She has taught at a Classical Core Knowledge school for the past eight years.

In her free time, Natalia enjoys hiking and baking when she is not reading a book. She keeps busy with her husband and four children with sports and school activities for her three of her four children.

Susan-Marie Farmen, “Sam,” is originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and has lived all over the United States. While she has enjoyed a variety of work over the years, she started her career in education in Washington as an art docent and math tutor, before working in early childhood Special Education. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Humanities, a Master’s Degree in Education, and is currently working on a doctorate in Educational Leadership at Denver University. She moved to Colorado in 2007 where she has taught in both public and private schools at the elementary, middle and high school levels. Prior to completing her Principal licensure program at Denver University and working as an Assistant Principal, she served as a Teacher Effectiveness Coach, an Early Literacy Specialist, and a Dean. She has served on a variety of committees ranging from Early Literacy curriculum review to interim assessment design.
